Armenians with Disabilities Climbed Aragats Mountain
The Armenian Association for the Disabled “Pyunic”, together with its international partner, the Advocacy Centre on Council of Europe Standards (ACCESS, Strasbourg, France, arranged the traditional ascent to Mountain Aragats. The ascent took place on 21 September, timed to the Day of Independence of the Republic of Armenia. The climb started at 11:00 from the bottom of the mountain and ended at around 17:00 in the same place. A group of fifty participants with and without disabilities took part in the ascent. The moto of the event was “Dsiability is not a barrier to active lifestyle”.
The event was honored by the participation of H.E. Ambassador Piotr Antoni Świtalski, Head of EU Delegation to Armenia, as well as several staff members of the Delegation together with their family members.
