On November 30 – December 1 “Pyunic” and “ACCESS” arranged the second cluster of capacity building events that was held in Berlin Hotel in Gyumri, Shirak region. The cluster encompassed trainings and round-table discussions on the following topics:
The role of local authorities in promoting the rights of persons with disabilities;
Accessibility and universal design in the international legally binding standards;
Rights of children with disabilities;
The Council of Europe and its advocacy opportunities for civil society;
The relevant conclusions of the CoE Monitoring Mechanisms on Armenia;
Advocacy and lobbying of the rights of persons with disabilities.
Around 70 members of partner NGOs as well as representatives of local and regional government bodies (Shirak and Lori Marzpetarans, Municipalities of Gyumri and Vanadzor), the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs and students from a local university were present at the event.
